The German automotive supplier Bosch will be cutting 240 of its 390 jobs at its Bosch-Automotive-Steering-plant in Bremen-Huchting by 2020 due to internal restructuring. According to some sources, production may be relocated to other Bosch plants in Hungary and France — this has yet to be confirmed by Bosch. The company considers the cuts to be inevitable in order to preserve the plant’s long-term competitiveness. Negotiations between company representatives and works council have already started. They will try to avoid operational terminations and will support early-retirement programmes.
