The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Portuguese retail company Jerónimo Martins, owner of the Biedronka store chain, announced the creation of 3,000 new jobs across Poland by the end of 2018. The company plans to create about 100 new stores, where about 2,000 employees will be hired; the other 1,000 jobs will be created in the context of organisational changes within the existing units. The source also reports that the company created around 5,000 jobs in 2017.
Jerónimo Martins has been operating in Poland since 1995 and employs an estimated 65,000 people in the country. The company has over 2,820 stores and 16 distribution centres across Poland.
