Major Polish media group Agora has announced that it will decrease its staff in the printing department by 53 workers through a collective dismissal programme. The job cuts represent a drop of around 16.3% in the department’s total workforce, and will take effect between 15 February and 16 March 2018. The conditions of the programme are regulated by an agreement signed with the local trade unions and the workers’ council. The restructuring programme is a sequence to changes in the media market, which have been occurring over the last years.
Agora, the publisher of ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’, has been operating since 1989. The group is one of the largest media companies in Poland.
