The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Swedish construction company Skanska has announced that it will cut 2,500 jobs across Poland through a collective dismissal programme by the end of 2018 (the programme will start in March 2018). The conditions of the programme is being negotiated with the local trade unions. The main reason behind the decision is lower than expected profit. The company will concentrate its activities in the largest Polish cities and improve its organisational and financial effectiveness.
The source reports the restructuring programme will be also implemented in the Czech Republic and the UK; in total the company plans to cut about 3,000 jobs in 2018.
Currently, the company employs over 4,693 people in Poland.
