Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Brush Group has announced plans to cut 270 jobs from its site in Loughborough. The firm, which manufactures generators, and has been based in the town for 125 years has made the decision to downsize due to fall in demand for its products. Currently 500 people are employed at the site in Loughborough out of a total of 790 across the UK. A statutory period of consultation over the job losses will apply. The Brush Group has confirmed that it intends to maintain research and development and engineering departments at Loughborough.
