Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nestlé France will cut about 400 positions in its administrative services in the next three years, announced the group, pledging to offer a reclassification to all employees concerned. 'Everyone will be offered a position' in the company, said the management of Nestlé France which employs a total of about 13,000 people. Nestlé France will reduce hiring, to be able to propose a reclassification to the employees concerned. 'We want to manage this transformation without redundancies', the management said.
The announcement is part of a larger reorganisation announced in January 2017 to cope with the impact of digitalisation and administrative simplification. In the meantime, Nestlé France has also begun to negotiate a voluntary departure plan in its Galderma R&D centre to cut about 400 positions.
