Energy company Northern Gas and Power has announced it will open a new site in Hartlepool, thereby creating 150 jobs. The positions will be for sales and energy consultants and PAs. The company already has sites in Gateshead as well as in Paris, Chennai and Ireland, and is notable for its approach to employee relations. Staff do not work at all during December and the company has been known to take staff on holidays as a thank you for their efforts. The firm is also unique in that it promotes from within, rather than employing managers from the external labour market. The new site in Hartlepool is expected to open early 2018 and recruitment for the new positions is already underway.
