Description

It has been announced that a consultation is underway over job cuts at Cameron House Hotel. The luxury resort hotel, on the banks of Loch Lomond has been closed since December 2017, following a fire in which two people were killed. Investigations into the cause of the fire remain ongoing. The hotel employs 450 staff in total and consultation is underway over the loss of 300 jobs. At a meeting at the nearby Dumbarton Football Club, staff were told that jobs would be cut and that of the 300 proposed losses, around 150 would come from the zero hours contract workforce. It is understood that those on zero hours contracts will be paid until mid January, even though no work is currently available. The timeframe for the cuts to permanent staff has not been reported.
