High Street bakery Greggs unveiled plans to open 130 new stores throughout the UK in 2018, thereby creating around 1,500 new jobs. The chain has made the decision to increase its high street presence following strong sales figures in 2017. The investment plan will also see around 100 outlets refurbished and updated. A spokesperson for Greggs stated that the chain was looking to expand its product range, for example by introducing vegan options. The company has not yet revealed the locations of the new stores.
