Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Romanian subsidiary of the German car component manufacturer, Preh, has announced the creation of 190 new jobs by the end of 2018 at its factory in Ghimbav, East-Central Romania. Established in 2008, the Ghimbav plant employs about 1,100 people. Most of the open positions are for electromechanical installers, unskilled workers, engineers, software programmers and car component assemblers.
Preh Romania produces electrical and electronic car components for Audi, Porsche, BMW and Daimler. The company invested €13 million in new production units in 2017 and expects to reach a total workforce of 1,400 employees by the end of 2019.
