Description
The City of Deva (Hunedoara County) has announced a collective redundancy of 150 permanent full-time positions, by February 2018. There are two reasons given for the job cuts, first, there are provisions in a new wage law that allow the authorities to increase salaries in accordance with the budgetary decisions of the municipal council. Secondly, there is a need to reduce the staff of the institution by rethinking the organisational chart.
The trade union has so far not reacted to the announcement.
The City of Deva has 843 employees in Romania.
