Description
The US multinational General Electric Power, has announced a global restructuring of its energy business. This process will lead to the dismissal of 200 workers at its plant in Setúbal, Portugal, which manufactures boilers and 'smart' energy meters. The main reason is linked to the significant decrease in demand for thermoelectric power generation units.
Since 7 December 2017, the company has entered a consultation process with the unions. No timeline has yet been announced for the redundancies.
