Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Outsourcing company Sitel has announced plans to create 300 new jobs at its site in Plymouth. The company, which started operating in the city in 2017, is able to offer these new positions due to a major contract with an unnamed large national company. The majority of the positions will be offered initially as short-term contracts of three to six months, but with the possibility to become permanent subsequently. The recruitment for the new positions began during December 2017 and the new jobs will be added throughout January and February 2018.
