Description
Adient (previously Johnson Controls), a multinational producer of car seats has announced the dismissal of 80 employees at its facility in Assenede. The company deems the reduction of its workforce necessary as it has lost production volume when changing from producing seats for the Volvo model XC40 instead of the XC60. Trade unions are critical of this statement as there is no indication of economic unemployment and even demands by the management to do overtime. In 2004, the company dismissed 114 employees.
