Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Norfolk based furniture manufacturer Multiyork has announced plans to cut 112 jobs with immediate effect. The company entered administration in November 2017. Subsequent efforts to find a suitable buyer for parts of the business have proven unsuccessful. Approximately 500 staff remain with the firm, at its 50 stores and its headquarters in Thetford, though the future for these jobs is still uncertain. The company will continue to fulfil orders and the administrators will continue to try to sell the business during a period of managed wind down.
