Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
KGZ Krpan, the agroforestry cooperative from Cerknica, went bankrupt causing the direct dismissal of all his 110 employees. The cooperative, owned by 230 farmers, failed to reach an agreement on debt settlement with creditors, hence the management filed bankruptcy in November 2017. The trade union was also in favour of bankruptcy: indeed, the cooperative had huge financial difficulties for a long time that caused agonizing situation for workers who didn't receive their wages for several months. KGZ Krpan owned 30 shops in Notranjsko-Kraška region.
