Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A Polish start-up, Digital Teammates (DT) has announced it will create 200 jobs at its units in Warsaw and Łódź. The restructuring programme is associated with the company’s first order received from mBank, whose fund mAccelerator has invested in the start-up. Within the project, the company will develop four robots which will provide assigned services supporting the bank’s employees in their everyday tasks (writing e-mails, copying documents or entering data).
MAccelerator is the first fund in Central and Eastern Europe to develop and commercialize cutting-edge technologies. The fund will invest EUR 50 million in startups that are expected to become partners for financial institutions around the world. DT was founded in October 2017 and it is specialised in robotic process automation.
