Description
Motorcycle engine manufacturer Motori Minarelli announced the forthcoming dismissal of 68 out of 259 employees at its plants in Calderara di Reno.
The Yamaha daughter company adduced the job cuts to a persistent reduction of production. Due to the crisis, Motori Minarelli has reduced significantly its staff over the last 10 years (see also Motori MinarelliIT-2014) and it is currently making use of temporary lay-off schemes.
Unions are holding strikes against the decision. They ask for a reduction of exits, new investments in the plants, and for dismissals to take place on a voluntary basis.
