Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Following concluded employer-employee negotiations, the Finnish office supportive functions company Grano Group announces the reduction of approximately 100 jobs, instead of the previously estimated 150. The reductions are part of a reorganising intended to streamline group-level operations and production. The reductions will be spread across various operating locations and will presumably be initiated in the final quarter of 2017. Expected cost savings from the job reductions and other restructuring measures mount to some €4 million.
