Description
Suez the waste management company is seeking to reduce its workforce in Doncaster by 106 jobs. The company which has the contract to collect waste on behalf of the Doncaster Local Authority had originally intended to make compulsory redundancies to achieve the job cuts before the introduction of new contractual terms from March 2018. However, following formal consultation and talks with conciliation service Acas, compulsory redundancies have been suspended for a year. The company still intends to make the cuts, but hopes that the job losses can be achieved in the meantime through an enhanced redundancy package. A ballot for strike action will not now take place following the agreement.
