Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Schaeffler Production CZ, automotive parts producer, has opened a new manufacturing site in the city of Svitavy, where up 1,000 new jobs will be created by 2020. After the recent opening, the first 269 recruitments are currently working there. The plant's production focuses on heat management modules for the automotive industry. This device helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The products will be used for the expected boom in the production of electric cars in the next decade. The investment reached almost EUR 100 million. The company is mostly looking for assembly workers, adjusters, technologists, tool-makers and electricians. Globally, the German manufacturer of rolling element bearings for automotive, aerospace and industrial purposes operates in 50 countries with about 86,000 staff.
