Description
Sainsbury's supermarket has announced plans to embark on another cost cutting exercise which will result in a possible loss of 2,000 jobs across the UK. The decision comes as the business continues to face pressure from the so-called discounters. The job losses include 1,400 store based clerks as the firm moves to a centralised HR model. Sainsbury's are close to completing a three year plan to save 500 million GBP, but this latest announcement means that from Spring 2018, another three year plan to save the same amount will be launched. Sainsbury's previously announced 400 jobs losses earlier in 2017.
