Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Gurit, a company which manufactures composite material for use in wind turbines, boats and cars, has announced that it will transfer it manufacture from Newport (UK) to Spain, resulting in the loss of 70 jobs. The decision has been taken due to changes in the production process by the firm's customers in the wind turbine industry, who have switched to different manufacturing methods. Gurit has confirmed that other parts of the UK business will not be affected and investment will continue at the site which employs around 300 staff. Some production of turbine composites will continue though from Summer 2018 this will be at the company's site in Spain.
