Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Marshall Aerospace has announced plans to cut 300 jobs, from its staff of more than 2,000 employees. The restructure is intended to make the business model more flexible and affordable. The company which is headquartered in Cambridge, with sites in Kirbymoorside, Brize Norton and Birmingham, manufactures and services aircrafts. The intended losses for each of the sites have not been reported. The news of the job cuts comes after a 13.5 million GBP defence contract award and a spokesperson for the unite trade union has therefore described the news as 'very disappointing'.
