Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Software company Veeqo has announced plans to create 168 new jobs. The Swansea based company has received 500,000 GBP of Welsh Government support to help with the expansion. The firm aims to expand its global client base which already includes well-known brands such as Amazon and E-Bay. Veeqo's technology helps retailers ship their goods using a single software platform. The firm has offices in London, Berlin, Canada and Kurdistan, though it is understood that the majority of the new jobs will be based in South Wales. In addition to the jobs announced, 20 new jobs have already been filled in the past twelve months. The new positions are expected to be filled over a three year period.
