Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The US-based and Chinese-owned IT distribution company Ingram Micro and the German-based e-commerce platform company Zalando are hiring some 500 new employees for a new warehouse and logistics centre in Brunna, close to Stockholm. Availability of trained personnel was a decisive factor for the location of the centre. The warehouse building of 30,000 sqm has been finalised and the centre will be operational in autumn 2017. Ingram Micro will run the centre, while Zalando has its own software for e-commerce and deliveries will be handled by other companies, primarily Postnord. The logistics centre is to significantly speed up deliveries to the Nordic countries.
