Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Insurance company Admiral has announced plans to create 193 new jobs at its offices in Cardiff. The announcement follows the award of 668,500 GBP from the Welsh Government's Business Finance Scheme, which is designed to help job creation. The new jobs will support the company's expansion into the personal lending market through an online platform. There is no information available on when it is expected that the jobs will be filled. Admiral is one of the largest employers in Wales, employing over 6,000 staff including more than 3,000 in Cardiff itself. The latest announcement closely follows its previous expansion. Earlier in 2017, Admiral added 150 jobs across its operations in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport.
