Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Severn Trent Water has announced plans to create 250 new jobs. The roles available are in various divisions of the company including engineering and network support. The utility company currently employs around 6,000 staff across the midlands and supplies water to 4.5 million customers in the midlands and north Wales. There is no information about when the jobs are expected to be filled, though the recruitment process is already underway. Severn Trent has said that it will consider training people if it cannot recruit workers who already possess the necessary skills.
