Chinese-owned Ctrip, the online travel agency, has announced plans to open a new call centre in Edinburgh in early 2018. When fully operational, the call centre, which was acquired in December 2016, will house 200 new jobs. Recruitment is due to begin towards the end of 2017, and it is anticipated that it will take a few years for all the jobs to be filled.
Ctrip are the owners of Scotland-based online travel agency Skyscanner. The new call centre will operate independently from the Skyscanner business, though will make use of the skills of the company in providing services across different time zones and in numerous languages.
