Description
The Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo continues to invest heavily in its online shopping and delivery services, which had been announced earlier to generate some 900 jobs, with the establishment of its own 'Jumbo Tech Campus' next to its head office in Veghel (south Netherlands) which will employ some 200 employees by the end of 2018. These new employees will develop online and digital applications for Jumbo's customers. Jumbo thus aims to become the largest in the Netherlands in terms of online grocery shopping, a position now held by Albert Heijn.
Jumbo is a family-owned business with 580 shops across the Netherlands, 7 distribution centres, and 60 restaurants within the La Place restaurant chain. The supermarket chain employs around 31,800 people.
