Car manufacturer Detroit Electric has announced plans to create between 150 and 200 new engineering jobs with the news that it intends to build three models of cars at its site in Leamington Spa. The company will invest in new design, manufacturing and testing facilities for its electric models. Around 200 workers are currently employed at the midlands site meaning that when the new jobs are added the workforce will have doubled. Recruitment for the new positions is currently underway with the company hoping to fill the roles sometime in the spring of 2018.
