Description
On 31 August 2017, the German wheelchair manufacturer Otto Bock announced the loss of 50 jobs in Königsee due to internal restructuring. Affected employees will be offered a job in Berlin. If employees choose to decline the option of going to Berlin, they will be offered to leave the company under terms of an agreed upon social plan.
The site at Königsee has been highly unprofitable. Consequently, in July, Otto Bock announced to implement an austerity programme and immediately started negotiations with the works council and trade union.
Currently Otto Bock has 360 employees in Königsee.
