Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The provider of logistic systems and solutions TGW Logistics Group, with headquarters in Wels (Upper Austria), has announced it will hire 500 employees in the upcoming fiscal year.
TGW provides logistics solutions for companies such as Amazon, Adidas, Zalando or Esprit. As online shopping is increasing, the company's economic prospects are improving. TGW recorded an all-time high in revenue last year when it increased turnover by 17 percent. However, TGW reports difficulties in finding suitable employees, as qualified personnel is getting harder to find in Upper Austria. In 2016 TGW initially planned to hire 600 employees, but could only find 400.
Currently, the company is also investing in a new site in Marchtrenk, Upper Austria, which should be in operation by early 2018.
