Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bus and coach operator Edwards Coaches has announced plans to create 110 new jobs. The company, which is headquartered in Llantwit Fadre, near Cardiff, operates from a number of locations in South Wales and the Bristol area. The family run business is supported by over 11 million GBP (€12 million as per 22 August 2017) investment from the Santander bank, which will be used to buy a new fleet of 40 coaches and for the recently acquired depot in Avonmouth. Recently, Edward Coaches was awarded a contract to service the Bristol and Bath areas. There is no information as to when the jobs are expected to be filled.
