Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 31 July 2017 a representative of the pharmaceutical company Lohmann confirmed the loss of 35 jobs at its site in Cuxhaven (300 employees). This is the result of a restructuring of the company’s research and development departments.
The works council has already agreed on a social compensation plan with a comparatively generous severance payment.
The company produces drugs for poultry.
Lohmann has 5,500 employees in Germany.
