Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
DAR Dräxlmaier Automotive announced it will hire 120 employees at its plant in Hunedoara, Romania by the end of 2017. The manufacturer of motor vehicle components advertised 107 job openings for subassembly installers and 13 openings for industrial robot operators.
Over the course of 2017, the Romanian subsidiary of the German group Dräxlmaier will invest about 150 million Euro in the expansion of the production units in Hunedoara and Brasov.
Draxlmaier is an international automotive supplier with a total workforce of around 55,000 people in 20 different countries. As of July 2017, the company had an employee base of 2,691 employees at Hunedoara (Hunedoara County) plant.
In March 2017, the company announced collective dismissal of 800 people at Pitesti plant.
