Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT company OVH is to recruit 200 new staff in the next 18 months by opening two new sites in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique) and Bordeaux (Gironde). Each of the sites will recruit 100 employees in the next 18 months. Established in 1999, the French company operates 20 data centres as of 2017 and has 1,600 employees worldwide. The group has consistently expanded over the last few years, and has previously announced plans to recruit 200 employees in 2017, 290 employees in 2015, 100 employees in 2011, 500 employees in 2012, 150 employees in 2013 and 150 employees in 2014-2015. OVH will employ 1,500 people worldwide by the end of 2017, including 1,100 in France.
