Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Austrian-owned luminaire manufacturer EGLO opened a new 14,000 square meters, four-storey production plant and a 5,600 square meters automated warehouse in Pásztó, northern Hungary, following a HUF 4 billion (EUR 13 million) investment, with a HUF 650 million (EUR 2,12 million) state grant.
The new production facility creates 250 new jobs, twice the number required for the grant.
EGLO employs 800 people in other sites in Hungary, the company reported revenues of more than HUF 30 billion (EUR 98 million) last year.
