Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Thales, a multinational technology company, has opened a new cybersecurity facility in Tubize, employing 150 people. Each day, 130 cyber attacks take place in Belgium, 60% of which target SMEs, according to the company. Thales expects that by 2020 Belgium will be short of 2,000 cybersecurity experts. As a result, it plans to support the introduction of a masters in cybersecurity in several Belgian universities.
