Cable operator Virgin Media has announced that it is to cut 200 jobs from its management team following a failure to hit expansion targets. The company was also hit by negative press in March 2017 when staff were suspended amid allegations that progress with the new cable network had been exaggerated and investors had been misled. It is being reported that affected staff have been informed by phone that their jobs are at risk, and the majority of the cuts are expected to take place at the company's headquarters in London's Hammersmith. The timetable for the cuts has not been announced.
