Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Energy company Utility Alliance has announced plans to create 200 new jobs when it opens a new site in Sheffield. The business specialises in the supply of electricity, gas and water to business customers, offering savings through long-term deals. The company has grown rapidly since it was established in Hartlepool in 2016 with a team of just six staff. It currently employs over 200 in Hartlepool and across the UK. Utility Alliance has signed a five year deal on its new site in the Meadowhall area of Sheffield, and intends the office to be fully operational by August 2017.
