Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lynas Foodservice, based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, has announced plans to create 100 new jobs. The business which has operated for 70 years currently employs 375 staff. The company supplies frozen and chilled food to businesses and public bodies and is set to open 10 outlet stores, starting with a new development in Bangor, which will create between 10 and 12 jobs. A further development is planned in Ballymena for September 2017. The company plans to open its 10 stores across Northern Ireland over the coming five years.
