Description
Supermarket operator Tesco has announced plans to create 250 new call centre positions in Dundee. The move follows the decision to close its centre in Cardiff with the loss of 1,100 jobs. Some of the affected Cardiff workers are expected to be offered the opportunity to relocate to Dundee, though given the distances involved, few are expected to accept the offer. The site at Dundee already employs 1,100 people and, with the closure in Cardiff, will be company's main site for customer engagement. No details have been given about when the jobs will be filled, though the Cardiff centre is due to close in February 2018.
