Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
LTH Castings from Škofja Loka (Gorenjska region), a producer of aluminium die-cast automotive components, such as transmission and engine components, steering and brake systems components, and other products, will start to build a new plant in August 2017. One part of the new plant will already operate in the beginning of 2018 and 380 workers will be hired in the first half of next year. Increased demand for its products among automotive producers such as Daimler, BMW, Wabco, Continental, and Bosch induced the company to expand production. The new plant in Škofja Loka will be the sixth of the already existing plants in Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia.It will employ 380 employees, 100 in tool shop, 220 in processing and 60 in administration. LTH Castings currently has 2,650 employees all together.
