Description
The car rental company Europcar will cut about 200 jobs at the headquarters in Hamburg, according to the United Services Union (Ver.di). The job cuts affect the administration department. 133 full-time equivalent positions will be cut until the end of 2017 and further 33 within 2018. These figures equals full-time equivalents, which leads to about 200 affected employees due to part time positions. The company is also planning to outsource some tasks to external service providers.
Europcar confirmed the ongoing restructuring process which include negotiations with the works’ council. The United Services Union announced protests and demand a collective agreement.
Europcar employs some 480 staff members at its headquarters in Hamburg.
