Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
CFLEET, a newly-established Slovenian subsidiary of Cammeo, a Croatian taxi service provider, will expand the taxi offer in Ljubljana (Osrednjeslovenska region) employing more than 200 taxi drivers with 100 new ecological gas vehicles. The new taxi service will be available from August 2017 onwards and will work via a mobile application through which users will be able to monitor the arrival and time distance of the vehicle, as well as rate and comment on the service. Bojan Pečnik from the Chamber of Craft and Small Business said that a fierce market competition among taxi service providers has already lowered prices to a level that barely makes it possible to cover costs incurred by performing taxi service and a new player will make the situation even worse.
