Hungarian-owned paper manufacturer Vajda-Papír is building a new plant in Dunaföldvár. The HUF 11 billionn (EUR 3,56 million) greenfield investment is subsided by the state with a HUF 4,5 billionn (EUR 1,45 million) grant.
The 23,000 square-metre new plant will become operational next February and will employ 100 people. The facility will produce 35-40,000 tons of semi-processed paper annually and will provide half of the company's needs, all of which is imported at present.
With a turnover of HUF 26 bn (EUR ,42 million) in 2016, Vajda-Papír also has plants in Poland and Norway.
