Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Tobacco products manufacturer Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has announced that it will create about 400 jobs at its new production facility in Start Gostków near Łódź. The company has invested about USD 200 million (EUR 178.66 million) in the factory which will export its products to 60 countries around the world. The 70,000 m2 plant will produce tobacco products equivalent to over 30 billion cigarettes per year.
JTI has been operating in Poland for 10 years. Currently, the company employs 900 people in two factories located in Stary Gostków, Poland.
