Description
Unieco, a cooperative active in the construction sector, will dismiss its remaining 170 workers.
The decision follows the failure of debt negotiations with creditor banks aimed at avoiding the bankruptcy of the cooperative. The cooperative will now be handed over to a liquidator.
The dismissals will affect half of the staff, being the other half subject to the collective dismissal procedure concluded last month (see UniecoIT-2016).
Workers have to grapple with the other consequences of the bankruptcy, such as unpaid contributions and other credits, including loans to the cooperative.
