Description
The Dutch-based tyre maker Pon Tyre Group (PTG) has opened a new plant in Slovakia in the P3 Industrial Park in Lozorno near Bratislava. The PTG Slovakia plant will employ around 100 people. The car wheel assembly plant spreads across a floor space of 17,000 m²; P3 covers 215,000 m² and seven facilities in total. About 100 employees will work in the factory where one wheel will be made every 18 seconds. Up to date technology should improve working conditions for workers often handling heavy tyres. The industrial robots were specially developed and designed for this plant, reportedly making it the most developed facility of its kind in Europe. Production started on 29 May 2017 and from June 2017 the plant will have the capacity to manufacture wheels for about 2,000 vehicles daily, while the warehouse has the capacity to store 40,000 tyres. PTG Slovakia is the supplier of Volkswagen Slovakia.
